For versatility and beauty, few products in the world match the magnificence of Douglas Fir timbers. Unlike the structural grades, appearance timbers are milled and graded according to aesthetic rather than structural performance criteria. Color, grain pattern, texture, knot type and size are the factors that influence the grade. For this reason Appearance timbers are marketed separately from structural timbers to allow a larger range of visual choices for discriminating end users.
Sizes available range in thickness from 3" to 12" (75mm - 305mm) and from 4" to 24" (100mm - 610mm) in width. Lengths from 8' to 40' (2.4m - 12.2m) are available.
