Environmental integrity is a core value of the company. Interfor maintains an environmental management system throughout its operations to help identify and manage environmental issues.

The company is also a leader in sustainable forestry. Our woodlands operations are committed to meeting high environmental standards through the application of science-based principles, collaborative approaches, sustainable forest practices and independent certifications. Key Accomplishments:

• Third party certified to three globally recognized and respected programs: The Sustainable Forestry Initiative Inc. (SFI®.), the Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®) and the Programme for Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC).
• Recipient of the SFI Inc. Conservation Leadership award (2009) for collaborative work with First Nations to identify and manage for cultural needs.
• Co-recipient of the World Wildlife Fund - Gift to the Earth Award (2007) and Forest Leadership Partnership Award (2005) for collaborative work on land use planning in BC.
• United Nations Environmental Program - Millennium Business Award for environmental achievement (2000).
